I am receiving the same error after updating WordPress to 6.5.3 and WooCommerce to 8.9.1 – please let me know if you found the fix or bug causing this issue. I am using Stripe Gateway 8.30. “There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.” every time I place an order.
I was having the same problem so I had to deactivate the plugin Fluent SMTP.
Hi @fidesdesign,
Can you share more details, please? Does it happen for all your orders or just a few? Any specific type of payment gateway or all? Which payment gateways and plugins are you using?
In the meantime, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:
- System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
- Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.
Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.
Thanks!

Hello I’m having the same error message. There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.
This was go daddy only issue. I migrate my website and everything started working fine.
So support at go daddy told me that they have issue that has come up with the integrated Google Analytics Pro plugin on the platform.
So basicaly they are working on the issue so they just disable that feature for now and every thing is working fine.
